Brett Leonard

My Mission

I believe in the development of Vermont Hockey.  I believe in challenging the conventional methods and raising the standard. The way we challenge conventional training is by developing innovative methods that directly improve our players' on-ice performance. I raise the standard by constantly pushing my athletes' outside their comfort zone and closer to their potential. By providing superior programs for my players and creating a culture of excellence, together, we will put VT hockey back on the map.

Brett developed a passion for coaching, skill development and off-ice training since an early age. Brett was known for his dedication to off-ice training and skill development to help maximize his own potential. However, starting in High School, Brett started giving back to the VT community working numerous camps, clinics, and off-ice training for younger players. This is what developed Brett's extreme passion for helping the next generation of VT hockey players. Brett has been coaching officially now for 12 years as well as starting the Vermont Hockey Training Center 6 years ago and Dynamo Hockey Club last year.

Brett is dedicated to creating the very best training programs to develop his players. He has spent 20+ years of research in every subject pertaining to improving human performance.  With Bretts holistic approach and his vast knowledge in subjects such as: biomechanics, kineseolgoy, strength and conditioning, sports nutrition, nervous system - motor learning, etc. Brett is able to create far superior skill drills and off-ice exercises that get results.

Brett's on-ice skill development is setting the standard and quickly gaining interest from top programs around. Starting this past fall, Brett became the skills coach for the defending New England Prep School Champions - Kimball Union Academy.
